Loveless Porter Architects engaged Rich Hostelley Architect to re-imagine a long-standing dairy barn, built in the early 1950s, into a vibrant special events center - one that would honor the past while welcoming the future.

Enlisted as a design consultant, Rich was entrusted with a pivotal role: to guide the project through a complex transformation that balanced architectural ingenuity with historical sensitivity. Drawing from his extensive experience in adaptive reuse and spatial storytelling, he contributed a full spectrum of design services, from conceptual development and planning to technical detailing and construction documentation.

Rich and the Brambleton Project Management Team approached the structure not as a relic to be gutted, but as a canvas rich with character - existing arched interior wood beams became the center-point of the design. The goal was not simply to re-purpose the space, but to elevate it, crafting a venue that could accommodate weddings, performances, and community gatherings, all while retaining the essences of the original barn. The result is a seamless marriage of old and new: a venue that retains the soul of its past but is firmly rooted in the present. Thanks to this collaborative effort, the former barn now stands as a testament to thoughtful design, adaptive reuse, and the power of partnership in shaping meaningful spaces.
