The project centers on the revitalization and transformation of a historic two-story structure originally constructed in 1917. The scope of work involved a comprehensive renovation and strategic expansion to meet modern demands while preserving the architectural character of the original building. The design intent focused on enhancing functionality, improving accessibility, and creating vibrant social spaces that honor the building’s legacy.
The renovation increased the building’s total square footage from 5,500 SF to an impressive 18,000 SF. This expansion was achieved through the addition of two new wings—one dedicated to an expanded dining area and the other to house a new commercial-grade kitchen and updated restrooms. These additions were carefully integrated with the original structure to maintain a cohesive architectural language.
A key feature of the project is the introduction of the “Beer Garten,” a dynamic outdoor gathering space designed to serve as a cultural and entertainment hub. This area includes a full-service bar, generous seating options, and a dedicated performance stage, creating a flexible venue for live music, community events, and casual dining. The Beer Garten blends seamlessly with the interior spaces, offering an indoor-outdoor experience that enhances the guest experience year-round.
Accessibility upgrades were also a major component of the renovation, with new entries, circulation paths, and restroom facilities designed to meet ADA standards and ensure inclusivity for all patrons.
The result is a thoughtful balance of preservation and innovation—breathing new life into a historic landmark while establishing it as a modern destination for food, drink, and entertainment.
